Tour of RWG for lonely elderly
On Monday July 15, a group of 100 lonely elderly people were welcomed on the RWG terminal and Maasvlakte 2. The event was organized by the Leef je uit Foundation in cooperation with RWG.
The event started with a guided tour of the RWG terminal by bus. Thereafter the elderly were invited to take a round trip, with the Futureland Ferry, to view Maasvlakte 2 from the water. During the cruise a tasteful lunch was served, while the elderly enjoyed several musical performances, had a nice overview of all companies and saw some seals on Maasvlakte 2.
In 2016, RWG and the foundation signed a multiannual cooperating agreement. By organizing an annual Christmas gala dinner, RWG tries to contribute to the wellbeing of lonely elderly people. As a Rotterdam-based company, RWG cares about people in Rotterdam who have pulled through hard times. It is often precisely these people who have made the city and the Port of Rotterdam great.
